I hear someone say mistletoe,
Or see it hanging there,
All those around me walk right by,
And wonder why I stare.
This season fills me with a cold,
Those berries make me cry,
Because they make me think of her,
And I wish I could die.
It’s not the same as it has been,
With all my other loves,
For without knowing how I felt,
They flew away like doves.
But this one’s somehow different,
I feel more for her,
I want to give her all the world,
I want it to be pure.
I just want her soul to see me,
Through poets’ eyes like mine,
Just want her to feel the same way,
And air would taste of wine.
If only she could love me back,
If only she could see,
If she could only love me back,
Then my heart would be free.
