The Joy of You

  This azure sky alike in hue,
  Could draw me near to perfect blue,
  To match your eyes, a subtle glow,
  And gorgeous features yours to show,
  The palest colour in your face,
  And all your dazzling female grace,
  Could make attempt within the soul,
  To find a peace, and gain control,
  And breathe in deep the sweet perfume,
  For in the dark the shadows loom,
  Where I am, here without you,
  For here I feel a sadness true,
  But when you’re near I feel so glad,
  That all the saddest times I’ve had,
  Are lost in sweetest joy.
