The Effects of Mortality

The end, the fall, a fade away
A time for all, to kneel and pray,
The powers react to decease in direct,
At the end of the road, it’s time to reflect,
Look back to the future, focus your thoughts,
Even though all your wisdom, is tied up in knots,
Emotions are clouding, your simple mind,
The mind of a mortal, with much less to find,
Equate death with ending and fall into line,
Give me my freedom, there isn’t much time,
We can’t see what’s coming, it’s too far away,
We can’t live in the past, or think in this sad way,
For in sadness is pity, be happy instead,
If you think about dying, you’re better off dead,
A minute, an hour, time seems to fly by,
A foreign sensation, it’s needless to try,
Don’t block out the tears, don’t cry in the night,
Don’t try to stop it, it’s futile to fight,
Fly back in the face of the unfeeling fear,
In a time of depression, all true friends grow near,
When truth is denied, and mortality seen,
All parades of people, tears in the extreme,
The silence is deafening, it screams so loud,
And even the strongest, are lost on a cloud,
As fog lifts outside, all are silent as death,
In the light of his passing, we’ll breathe tearful breath.
